Accessibility Statement
We sell accessibility work. That means this site has to hold up to the same standard we ask of our clients.
Our target
We build and maintain this website to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That's the standard we'd hold a client's workplace materials to, so it's the one we hold ourselves to.
What we've done
- Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user hits.
- Body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio; large text meets 3:1.
- Headings run in order, one H1 per page, no skipped levels.
- Every image has alt text, and decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields have real labels, and errors are announced, not just coloured red.
- Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Motion is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- The readiness check and booking form both work without a page reload or a mouse.
What still needs work
Being honest about the gaps is part of the standard. Right now:
- The founder photographs are placeholders and their alt text will be rewritten when the final images are in place.
- We have tested with keyboard navigation and automated tooling. We have not yet completed a full manual audit with screen reader users, which is the only way to catch some issues.
- We have not published plain-language or alternate-format versions of our written pages. We will send one on request.
- Any documents we publish later may not all start out fully tagged and accessible.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site blocks you, email info@plainspokenhr.com and tell us what happened and what you were trying to do. We'll reply within two business days, give you the information in a format that works, and fix the underlying problem.
If you'd rather not write, ask for a phone call in your email and we'll arrange one.
